ABOUT 4S MOBILITY

4S is a framework to clarify what outcomes need to be prioritised to accelerate the delivery of safe, secure, seamless and sustainable mobility for all. This is achieved through a non-profit collaborative platform that brings together outcome-focused mobility organisations and professionals.

OUR VISION

The 4S platform is based on 4 core principles:

/ Safe
People should never risk their life and health to travel

/ Secure

People should never feel threatened or attacked while travelling

/ Seamless

People should never feel that travelling is difficult or inconvenient

/ Sustainable

People should never need to compromise future generations to travel

Our Milestones

Creating an outcome-centric vision

Most organisations in the mobility sector include some variation of delivering Safe, Secure, Sustainable and Seamless experiences within their Vision statements. The effort to create a common and detailed definition of what each of those words means in practice was kicked off by SBD Automotive in 2023.

Why focus on outcomes?

Companies often get caught up in the latest tech and lose sight of what truly matters. Focusing on technology for its own sake can lead to features that don't meet customer needs, overly complex products, higher costs without clear benefits, and neglected core functionalities, frustrating consumers.

A shift is needed. Instead of starting with technology, companies should prioritize understanding the needs of the people using their products. What improves their lives? What benefits society?

Automotive decision-making needs to evolve so that OEMs don't just survive, they thrive.

An outcome-focused approach addresses specific problems and achieves measurable goals. It aligns with customer needs, optimizes resources, defines success clearly, and ensures long-term viability. For mobility providers, this means enhancing travel experiences, improving safety, and addressing environmental concerns—creating solutions that are both sustainable and profitable.
